Dear Miss Gibson,

This book is the 6th book in a series of books I have been reading this past year. I have not had much time to read my book lately, but I am planning on reading a lot of it over Thanksgiving Break. So far in this book, Zoey cannot choose between the 4 guys in her life. There’s Kalona, who draws her in, but is an evil fallen angel. She knows she belongs with him, but she can’t be with him. Next there’s Erik, who is an attractive Vampyre who loves Zoey, but can be very controlling at times. Then there’s Heath, who is a human. He has been her boyfriend since they were little kids. He knows her better than anyone else, and truly loves her, but it is dangerous for them to be together. Lastly there’s Stark, who is a different kind of vampyre. He has pledged to become a warrior for Zoey, meaning he will do anything to keep her alive.

I feel bad for Zoey. She has to choose between 4 guys that all love her. I seriously doubt she will choose Kalona because he is evil, but his powers could draw her in. I doubt she will choose Erik too, because she does not like controlling people. I bet she will choose either Heath or Stark because they both truly love her, and are always kind to her. I like Heath because he reminds Zoey of the times before she was turned into a vampyre. Right now this book is moving kind of slow, but I’m sure it will get really good like all the other books in the series. They all start out a little slow, then become impossible to put down. I predict that Kalona will come back and begin to cause more trouble. That could be very bad, because Kalona can be dangerous. I would recommend this book to anyone. I am excited to read on!

Friendship

FINAL DRAFT

Friendships are very important in everyone’s lives.  Friends help you get through the hard times, and they help you have fun and be a better person.  Friends help you with your problems.  They love you, and you love them back.  Good friends would do almost anything for you.

Friends are very important to have in life.  Without friends people would be lonely and miserable. In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hermia is miserable when she is fighting with Helena over 2 men. I trust my friends to always have my back.   I believe that if friends are real friends, they will stick with you no matter what, and will always want the best for you.  Friends do fight, like Hermia and Helena do in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, but they will always come back to being friends again.  My friends help me get through the day, by showing me that they care for me as much as I care for them.  They make me feel confident about myself by complimenting me, and they always make me smile.

Everyone thinks of the word “friend” in his or her own way.  When I hear the word “friend”, I think of people who I love.  I think of people that can make me happy when I’m sad, and people that I really care for.  My friends are not perfect, but I love them anyways.  They are always there for me, and I will always be there for them.  I have amazing friends!

The hardest part of making and keeping friends that you have to be a friend to them too.  You have to be there for you friends when they’re sad.  Your friends will look to you to help them to get through the day, like Helena does to Hermia when Demetrius hates Helena.  They will expect you to help them with their problems, and help keep them happy.  Friends are great to have, but you have to pay attention to them, which can sometimes be a lot of work.

In the play a Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare, there are many types of friendships be between the characters. There are friendships between the lovers, because in order to have a good relationship, they must be good friends. There is also a friendship between Hermia and Helena. They do not have a very strong friendship though.

Helena was not a very good friend to Hermia.  For example, when Hermia told Helena that she was going to run away with Lysander, Helena went off and told Demetrius.  Helena says, “I will go tell him of fair Hermia’s flight” to herself after Lysander and Hermia leave. Also, when both men fall in love with Helena because of magic, she automatically assumed that Hermia was playing a mean prank on her, which shows that she believed Hermia would betray her. When Hermia finds out that Lysander is in love with Helena, Helena says, “Now I perceive they have conjoined all three to fashion this false sport, in spite of me…” After this they began to argue, and got into a catfight, which shows they really aren’t good friends.

Another friendship in this story is Hermia and Lysander. They are in love, but they are also great friends.  All good relationships are based off of friendship.  I can tell they are friends because of the love they show for each other.  Hermia says, “If then true loves have ever been crossed…wishes and tears, poor Fancy’s followers.” This shows her love for Lysander, and that they are deeply in love.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Dear Miss Gibson,

        We just finished reading a Midsummer Night’s Dream. It is a complicated book about a fairy named Oberon, who causes a lot of trouble between four young people named Hermia, Helena, Lysander, and Demetrius. Hermia and Lysander are in love, but Demitrius loves Hermia, and Hermia’s father is forcing her to marry Demitrius. Helena is in love with Demitrius. The fairies, Oberon and his wife, Titania, are fighting over a child. There is also a group of fools, who are putting on a play within a play. Oberon gets his servant, Puck, to drip a magic flower on Demitrius and Lysander’s eyes, which makes everyone love the wrong person. The play ends happily, though. Oberon and Titania quit arguing, Hermia marries Lysander, Demitrius marries Helena, and the fools put on a successful play.

      This was a very good play, but it was very confusing. I thought the fools were very funny. I liked having them in the play, because they were a break from all the drama going on. I felt bad for Helena at first, because she really loved Demitrius, but I’m glad that she married him in the end. I also felt bad for Hermia when Lysander quit loving her, and loved Helena instead, but once again I am glad that Hermia got to marry Lysander in the end. I also felt bad for Hermia when her dad forbid her from marrying the man she loved. If I was in her situation, I would have run away with Lysander. The movie helped me to understand this play better, because I could see what was going on. Also, the actors showed lots of emotions with facial expressions, and gestures. This really helped me understand it better. I think that this play was very good, and everyone should try to read it sometime in their life. The story behind it was very cool.

Where am I?

What’s going on?

My eyes begin to feel heavy.

I fall backward

And land on a warm,

Soft cushion.

All I see are black and red

Swirls surrounding my body.

I struggle

To keep my eyes open,

But I cannot.

Am I sick?

Where am I?

I feel lost and lonely,

but I do not know why.

I begin to feel heavier,

and heavier.

Is gravity changing around me?

Dear Miss Gibson,

            I have just begun reading Tempted. It is a book from a series that is very good. So far Zoey has been recovering from getting rid of Kalona, an evil angel from the book before. Her boyfriend and grandma are both injured, so she is very stressed. Also, her best friend is hiding stuff from her, and she isn’t sure Kalona is gone for good. Lastly, her two ex-boyfriends are fighting over her. She never gets a break from trouble.

            I feel bad for poor Zoey. She has a ton of stuff to stress over, and nobody ever cuts her a break. I do wonder what her best friend, Stevie Rae, is hiding from her. It has to be something important because of the way she has been acting around Zoey. Also, Zoey’s ex-boyfriends, Heath and Erik, annoy me. They annoy everyone in the book too, including Stevie Rae. I hope they learn to get along and respect that Stark is Zoey’s new boyfriend. I like Stark. He is nice and really likes Zoey. I predict that Kalona is not gone for good, and Zoey and her friends will have to deal with him again. This book is very good. I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a good book.

Evermore by Alyson Noël

Pg 1-63

Dear Miss Gibson,

            I am reading Evermore. It is about a girl named Ever, whose family was killed in a car wreck. She lives through it, and gets special powers, which allow her to hear anyone’s life story by touching them. She hates this gift, because her head is always busy. When she meets Damen, everything changes. When he speaks, or touches Ever, everything in her head goes silent.

            This book is very weird. I do not care much for it. It’s really boring because nothing really important has happened in it yet, and I am already pretty far into the book. I don’t like Ever’s attitude, or her friends. She just doesn’t even try to make friends. I’m pretty sure that the whole book is just going to be boring. It will probably be about her liking Damen. I don’t think I’m going to continue to read this book. I do not want to read a book that I won’t enjoy. I enjoy books with action and surprises. I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone.

Killer by Sara Shepard

Dear Miss Gibson,

            I just finished the book Killer. I am not going to tell the details so I don’t give anything away. In the end of this book the girls find out who the killers of Ali are, and the girls are almost killed by the killers for finding out. One person who went missing was found, and the book ended in a very good, but confusing way.

            I enjoyed this book, because it was very surprising. It took very unexpected turns. One example is the person they found in the end. Another example is that the killer turned out to be two people I would have least expected them to be. I like the drama in these books, though there isn’t as much now that there’s a new A. I’m not sure a boy would care much for these books, but I no girls would. I predict that the person the girls found in the end isn’t the person they think it is. I have a feeling that something is wrong. I wonder what the girls are going to do now that they know who the murderers are. They can’t go to the police, and if they stay in town, the murderers will try to kill them again. They may have to do what other people have done, which is pretend to be dead, then escape town, and never be seen again. I can’t see that happening though, because they aren’t the type of people who would run away. I’m excited to read the next book, but unfortunately, it isn’t out yet.
