Killer By Sara Shepard

Pages-22/321

I have just began the book Killer. It is the sixth book in the Pretty little liars series. The series is about 4 girls that were all friends in 7th grade. Then their friend Allison DiLaurentis went missing and they found her body a few days later. In the books they girls are in 10th grade now and are no longer friends. Currently in this book The girls found Ian Thomas( Allison’s Murderer) dead in  the woods behind Spencer’s house. They found the police and when they went back to show them Ian, he was gone. That is where I have currently stopped.

I love this book and this series. It is amazing, like one of those books that once you start reading, you cant put it down. This book is pretty easy to follow, but not too easy. I wonder what will happen next. Where did Ian’s body go? Was he not dead in the first place? Did somebody take it? Is Ian Ali’s Murderer( He honestly claims not to be)? If he isn’t then who is? I was very surprised when they went to go show the police Ian he was gone! That puts a big twist in the book. I was reccomened this series by a friend and now I would reccomend it to anybody, because the series is amazing!

Marked By P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

Pages 306/306

I have just finished the book Marked. It was about a girl named Zoey who had just been marked which meant that she had to go live in The House of Night. In this book basically what happened was Zoey went to live at the House of Night. She meet girls that were apart of the Dark Daughters. The leader was Aphrodite who ended up wanting Zoey to join, but Zoey didnt like how they treated the other kids at the House of Night.

This book was really good. I am very excited to read the next book in the series, Betrayed. I have heard that it is really good, even better than the first one. I did get kind of confused in the end, but not too bad. I wonder what will happen in the next book. Will Aphrodite be nicer to the other kids? Will Zoey fufill her maximum powers? Will Zoey and Erik eventually go out? I was really surprised when Zoey put on the 4 powers of Earth cereomony at the end of the book and how well she pulled it off. I am really enjoying this series and would reccomend it to anybody who likes books that are impossibe to put down.

Marked- P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

Pages-106/306

I have recently been reading the book Marked by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. This book is about a girl named Zoey, who was marked. This means that she has to go to live at the House of Night which is a house for Vampyres. Right before i stopped reading, she had just gotten to the House of Night and met a few friends. There is a group of girls called The Dark Daughters who are mean to Zoey and I am excited to see how it ends up.

I am really enjoying this book. It has a good storyline and is very good. Iwonder what will happen now that Zoey has been marked. Will her parents be mad? Will she have to leave The House of Night? What is the deal with the Dark Daughters and why are they being so mean to Zoey? Will Zoey ever have to leave The House of Night? And if so, When? I think that this book has often been compared to the Twilight Series, but I have enjoyed this book just as much. This book is in a series and I am very excited to continue reading this book. I would reccomend it to anybody, because I think that it is a pretty universal book!

A Midsummer Night’s Dream- Madison

Love- Madison Smith

Love is a very powerful thing. It is demonstrated very often the play  A Midsummer’s Nights Dream.  In the play Hermia’s father Egeus, wants Hermia to marry Demetrius, but Hermia is in love with Lysander. Hermia wants to marry Lysander because she is in love with him, but also doesn’t want to disappoint her father. That is two sides of love. Side one is her love for Lysander, and side two is her love for her father and trusting him that he knows best for her.  I am going to be supporting both sides of this argument.

First I am going to talk about side one, her love for Lysander. I think that Hermia should be able to marry Lysander if she I truly in love with him. If Hermia does not love Demetrius than I think that she should not have to marry him. Even though her father, Egeus thinks that it would be best for Hermia to marry Demetrius, Hermia is not in love with him. I don’t think that Egeus should be able to pick whom Hermia marries. This practice was very popular in the time of Midsummer Night’s Dream. The parents would pick out spouses for their children. The children’s only options were to marry the person the parents pick out, or die.

I think that even though Egeus thinks Demetrius is right for Hermia, he shouldn’t make her marry him. Demetrius isn’t even in love with Hermia, so Hermia, Demetrius, and Lysander are all going to be unhappy.  Egeus thinks that Lysander isn’t right for Hermia, but Hermia insists that they love each other. In the play, Egeus says, “ Stand forth, Demetrius.- My noble lord, this man hath my consent to marry her.- Stand forth, Lysander.- And my gracious duke, This man hath bewitched the bosom of my child… Consent to marry with Demetrius; I beg the ancient privilege of Athens. As she is mine I may dispose of her- which shall be either to this gentleman or to her death- according to our law immediately provided in that case.”  When Egeus says this he means Hermia must marry Demetrius or she will die. Egeus does not like Lysander at all, because he thinks that Lysander put a spell on Hermia.

Then there is side two, Egeus knows best for Hermia. Egeus thinks that Lysander is not a good choice for a spouse for Hermia. Egeus thinks that he knows the best for her, even though she strongly disagrees with her.  In the play Egeus says “ Thou, thou, Lysander, thou hast given her rhymes, and interchanged love tokens with my child. Thou hast by moonlight at her window sung with feigning voice verses of feigning love, and stol’n the impression of her fantasy with bracelets of thy hair, rings, gauds, conceits, knacks, trifles, nosegays, sweetmeats- Messengers of strong prevailment and in unhardened youth.” When he says this he means that he thinks Lysander has not been loyal to Hermia.

Egeus also thinks that since he is Hermia’s father he should be able to pick whom she marries. Egeus does have a reason for not liking Lysander. He thinks that Lysander put a spell on Hermia to make her love him. Egeus also just likes Demetrius more because he appears to be more of a gentleman.

In the end of this book, Egeus finally lets Hermia marry Lysander for two reasons. Hermia was truly in love with him and did not like Demetrius. Also Demetrius is in love with Hermia’s friend Helena. I think that Hermia should be able to marry Lysander because she is truly in love with him. I don’t think that arranged marriages are a good thing because as much as the parent thinks that they know best, they can never get inside of their child’s head and know what they are thinking.  Egeus meant well, but made everybody happy by letting Hermia marry Lysander, her true love.

Wicked- By Sara Shepard

Pages: 310/310

I have recently finished the book Wicked. It is the fifth book in the Pretty Little Liars Series. Many big things happened since my last reading letter. Spencer’s family had big banquet party at their house. This was right after Ian Thomas was accused for killing Ali. He was supposed to come to a trial, but missed it. He then went missing. At the party all of the girls got notes from “A” that lured them all outside into the woods. Spencer went out first, and while she was gone nobody could find her, so the other three went outside to try. When they finally found her, she showed them what she had found in the woods. She found Ian Thomas, dead.

That was the end of the book. I really enjoyed most parts of the book. The middle got kind of boring in parts, but the ending was amazing. Ian Thomas dying was a big deal, and that really made me want to read the next book in the series. I have some questions though. Who killed Ian and why? Who is sending the A notes, now that Ian is dead? Did Ian really kill Ali? When they went out into the woods, I thought that Ian might be out there alive and trying to hurt them. I am glad that they didn’t die because that would really twist up the story. Again, I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to anybody!

Fabulous By Sara Shepard

Pages- 327

I have recently finished the book Flawless. It is the second book in the Pretty Little Liar’s series. It is really good. It is about 4 girls who get notes from an anonymous person called A. They thought that A was Toby, a person who seemed to stalk them, but later they found out that it wasn’t him.

I really enjoyed this book.  I thought that A was going to be Toby, but he wasn’t. I still am loaded with questions. Who is A? How did Toby die in the end? I am really anxious to start the next book, because this one left you hanging at the end. Whenever Emily went to the dance with Toby I was really shocked, and that’s what I like about this book. Once you think that you have got the 4 girls (Hanna, Spencer, Aria, and Emily) figured out, they go and change again. I would really want to recommend this book to anybody, but more likely a girl. I am very glad that I started this series, because I was having trouble finding a good book. This one is Fantastic!

Pretty Little Liars- By: Sara Shepard

Pages-286/286

Maddie Smith

I have just finished reading the book Pretty Little Liars. It was great! It was about four girls who are getting notes from an anonymous person called A. A sends them notes about secrets that only Allison would have known but, she is still missing and has been for like almost 3 years. In this book each chapter is about a different girl and it rotates between the four of them. Spencer’s older sister has a boyfriend but she and him are secretly going out. Hanna has totally transformed herself to a skinny popular girl but is bulimic. Aria and her English teacher, Ezra, are secretly going out. Emily has a crush on the new girl Maya, at school. In the End of this book Allison’s body was found in a hole that was covered up by concrete in the back of her old house.

I really enjoyed this book! I am very excited to start the next one, Flawless.   I think that this book is on a good reading level for me and it has a good storyline! But in this book I do have a few questions.  Will they ever find out who A (the person who sends them notes) is?  Who killed Allison? Will their secrets ever get out?  One thing that I like about this book is that the chapters rotate between girls. I hope to find out who A is and who killed Allison soon in this series!  I have really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anybody who likes books about current time fiction.

Pretty Little Liars

By:  Sara Shepard

Pages-60/286

Maddie Smith

I have recently started the book Pretty Little Liars. It is about 4 girls, Hanna, Aria, Emily, and Spencer, who were friends in Elementary school. Then in 7th grade they had a sleepover and Spencer and their old Friend Allison got in a fight.  So Allison left and Spencer followed her. She couldn’t find her. The next morning Allison was still missing. Then the book skipped ahead to the present time when the girls are in 10th Grade. They are not friends anymore and Aria had moved to Iceland, but their family just moved back to Rosewood.

That’s basically where I have stopped in this book.  I like this book a lot so far.  I think that in this book the 4 girls will start to get letters from an anonymous person called A. I think this, because it looks like it on the back. But I do have a few questions. Will Aria try to bring her other 3 friends back together now that she is back from living in Iceland? Will Allison ever be found, and if so will she be alive or dead? Why aren’t the 4 girls not friends anymore? Why is each chapter in the book a different girl, and it rotates from girl to girl? Well I’m really excited to continue reading this book! It is really good and I would recommend it to anybody!

Wicked- Sara Shepard

Pages-170/310

I have currently been reading the book Wicked. It is the fifth book in the Pretty Little Liars Series. There has not been too much happening in the past 50 pages or so. In Hanna Marin’s life her dad and his wife and her daughter moved in with Hanna. The daughter, Kate, finally became friends with Hanna, and they are becoming friends with these girls named Naomi and Riley. Also they have gotten another note from “A” but they are thinking that it is a copycat.

I really enjoy this book. It is very good, and one of those books where you can’t put it down. It really surprised me when they got another note from “A”, but then it sounds like it is just going to be from an “A” copycat. I think that one of the notes that they have gotten from “A” will be real but, the other few will be fake. I also think that Ian Thomas has been accused for Ali’s murder, will be proved innocent. But I do have just a few questions. Why would people want to copycat “A”? If one of the “A”s is really, which one is it? If so, how did he/she get their number, because they are blocked? Again I have enjoyed this book a lot and would recommend it to anybody!
