Lovesick

I just started the book, Lovesick, by Jake Coburn. This book is about a guy named, Ted. Ted is a star basketball player. He had gotten a full ride scholarship to an Ivy League school to play basketball. It all was ruined when Ted was driving drunk and was in a bad car accident. He had to have surgery on his knee and it is basically all metal now. He has to go to AA meetings and is feeling really down about himself because his future is ruined and he can’t play basketball ever again. Then, a man named Michael appears. Michael works for a very rich father of a very troubled girl named, Erica. Erica is bulimic and she is going off to college. Her dad is really worried about her and gets Michael to hire Ted to watch her all through her freshman year. This is a really good deal for Ted because Erica’s dad is going to pay for every year of Ted’s college schooling and all expenses included with it. When Michael comes to talk to Ted, of course he is very skeptical about his proposition. This book is pretty unrealistic, but it makes you believe the story. I predict that Ted will fall in love with Erica and have to tell her, her dad actually hired him. Of course, Erica will be very angry and hate him for a while, then she will realize she’s actually in love with him too. I am pretty sure this is what will happen, but I’m hoping there will be twists.
