3rd Quarter Student Writing 1- Seth

Steven the Zookeeper and the Slippery Salamanders

By Seth Copeland

Today Steven was cleaning out the Amphibian cage.  It’s a huge glass box.  Steven put all of the animals in there own little box.  He let them watch America’s Most Wanted.  The salamanders saw a criminal kick out the window to a cop car.  The salamanders got really good and they all kicked out there windows in the glass boxes and ecscaped.  Steven was so proud of himself, teaching a new skill to a little creature.  What a kind thing to do.

Wait a minute, Steven realized that the tiny, pea-brained slamanders took advantage of him.  Steven ran outside to the main zoo.  He ran right into his boss.  “Everything alright Steven?” asked Mr. Tippy.  “Yes sir,” replied Steven.  Steven ran off to find the slippery salamanders.  There were six missing.  He finds them all in the aquarium swimming.  Oh no there’s a big fishy named Sean that’s going to attack them.  Steven has to save them from being eaten.  Sean is closing in and Steven has little time to react.  He grabs the fish net and lunges towards the water.  Did he save them….He did!  Steven is a hero, he thinks.

Steven rushes back to the salamander exhibit to finish cleaning.  His boss walks in.  “What going on Steven!?!” asked Mr. Tippy.  “Just cleaning up,” replied Steven.  “Okay.”  Steven is saved for now.
