Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment

(James Patterson-whole book)

Maximum Ride is an interesting series that has six books so far.  The whole series is mainly about Maximum Ride, who is called just Max.  Max, along with her friends Iggy, Nudge, Fang, the Gasman, and Angel have been living on their own for two years.  But, one day their semi-peaceful life is interrupted when a band of Erasers attack.  Erasers are vaguely wolfish looking science experiments gone wrong.  The Erasers have been hunting Max and her friends for years.  Because they were all created in the same lab, called the School.  Max and the rest, as infants, had many tests done to them and have avian DNA grafted in them, in other words they have wings.  They also each have special other abilities.  The most special of all is Angel and she’s only six.  In the fight, some of the Erasers capture Angel.  The book centers on saving Angel from the School, which is place they still have nightmares about.  I really enjoyed this book.  It doesn’t have a super deep plot and has some kinds of sci-fi science stuff, but there is a lot of action.  All in all, this book will make you want wings of your own!  Also, girls will love Max’s humor and attitude, but guys can definitely enjoy this too.  I like that, though these are mutant kids, they have regular problems and it isn’t that hard to relate to them.
