A Fiery Fall.-FINAL-Nikki-Q2-Write 3

This is a re-do for “Dr. Tiga’s Great Adventure”

One boiling hot, Las Vegas day, the Walking Tiger Show manager was getting the two tigers ready for their matinee showing. Flame, the orange tiger, was licking his paw when Ice, the white tiger, approached him. They had never been best friends, but Ice just made it worse. They were groomed and clothed for an hour. Flame had never liked the clothes, because they were always too itchy. He looked up, to see the hair-thin tight-rope that he and Ice would walk on in just an half an hour. The rope was strung across the audience, the Walking Tiger Show’s signature.

People started poring in, including Dr. Webbingston. He was one of the world’s finest orthopedic doctors. The tigers were about to finish when their master, Willy, walked into their room. He ran over to Ice, who purred as he was petted.

“How is my Icey doing today? Oh yes, are you excited? That’s a good boy!!!” Willy said as he petted Ice. After a few minutes, Willy finally walked over to Flame.

“Hey Flame. Don’t fall on me today, okay?” he said to Flame, patting him on his head, “I know Ice had a few problems in training today, but since he got that fixed, it is you I have to worry about.” Flame huffed. Why does he always think everything is MY fault, Flame thought, I have NEVER fallen off, and Ice falls twice each practice. I know I am not his favorite, but could he be any more discouraging?

It was show time and Dr. Webbingston had found a good seat. All of a sudden bright lights were shining on a man in a red coat.

“Ladies and Gentlemen! Boys and girls! Welcome to the Walking Tiger Show!!! Here at WTS, we like to introduce you to your performers tonight!” Willy screamed. At every show introduction, Flame and Ice were whipped so they growl loudly. Their paws were tied down, so they would now escape. Only their faces were shown as Willy announced them, “First we have Flame! The fiery tiger that can’t be tamed!!” Flame growled in anger as his tail was whipped. He let out a low rumble before erupting with his ear splitting growl, a crowd favorite.

“Next, we have Ice! The icy-cool one that will send chills down your spine with his terrible howl.” Ice’s face was illuminated, and his tail, whipped. He let out a moan and then a ferocious growl.

“First, they will walk on the needle thin rope hanging above you.” Willy said. Flame’s paws were untied, his signal to move. He climbed up the eight foot ladder to his rope. When he looked down, faces were amazed, frightened, and shocked. He placed his right paw on his rope, and transferred his weight to the paw. He picked up his left paw, and set it down in front of the other. Carefully, he walked to the halfway point of the rope. Flame had finished before Ice, which was not uncommon. Once Ice was there, they turned to each other. After nodding, they leaped to each other’s rope. All of a sudden the ropes snapped! The tigers fell to the audience. Screams erupted from the people. Everybody ran out the auditorium, except for one. Dr. Webbingston slowly approached Flame. He could see that the tiger was in pain. His paw was broken. Luckily, Dr. Webbingston could fix it! The next day, Flame retired from the show, and Dr. Webbingston had become a great friend.
