Cameron and his zip line- Based on a true story- Benton Fielder

Cameron always wanted a zip line for all his life. He enjoyed playing on zip lines like at Kanakuk and at friends’ houses. He finally asks his mom and she says “Heck NO” with anger. He asked his dad about it and he considered it. His Dad and he did some research on zip lines and the trolleys (handle). He thought it was a great idea to have a fun and safe activity to have for the family. His dad finally bought the trolley and showed it to him. Cameron was so very excited about getting his zip line that he shouted for joy. One day when he was on his way back from track, he heard his mom talk to his dad about Cameron not being able to ride the zip line without parental supervision incase he would fall from the zip line. He was eating his dinner but when he saw his dad walk through the door, he knew it was time to ride that zip line over and over again. His dad was getting ready for a party but his dad went ahead and went down with Cameron. When they got down there, he saw that it was too tall for him to reach so he got a stepping stool. He stepped up on to the stool and got ready to fly across. His dad was waiting at the end for him to come flying down. Cameron grabbed on really tight and flew down. The first time down it was pretty scary for him but it got more and more fun as he kept doing it. It was getting dark out and his dad was ready to go to the party. His mom came out while his dad got ready. Cameron said “Just one more time mom, please please” (in a begging voice). His mom said yes. Cameron wanted to try to go down on the zip line backwards. He put his feet on the stand but the stand had slipped so Cameron started to slip. Cameron was barely hanging on but he managed to stay put on the trolley. That was one of the scariest things he has done all his life. His mother was scared half to death. Cameron was fine though. After that he headed back in the house. His sister got home and wanted to try it but unfortunately, his dad already left for his party. His sister had to wait for his dad to get home so she could try it. Once his dad got back home, his sister ran town to the creek where the zip line was. He gave her the trolley and she went to town. Her dad was waiting at the end but his sister was too scared to go again. His dad tightened the line so it would go faster. Cameron liked it so they kept it that day. It was time for Cameron to shower so he wouldn’t smell like the woods when he went to school the next day. Cameron got on his computer and wrote on his computer at night after his mom put him to bed. It was like his own boy diary. The next morning, Cameron had some cereal and milk. It was time for another great day to start on FRIDAY!!
