Dear Mrs. Gibson

To Catch a Killer

Author?

300- 360 pages

Summary: The book is about a young girl named Erin, who’s mother had died when she was around two. Her dad had left Erin when her mother died. Turn out the killer striked again, and killed her teacher. Erin and her friends used forensic science to try finding her mother’s and teacher’s killer. After a lot of research, she finds out who the killer was. She also discovers that her so called uncle might be her actual dad.

Response: I liked how this book shows true character. Erin shows that she can get through anything; even if it means knowing her school principal, her “father”, killed her mother and teacher. Erin had a gut feeling that the principal was probably not her real father; but that her so called uncle might actually be her father. The book really showed how there can be really cruel people, and how there can be people that are always there for you. One of her friends, Journey, had helped Erin a lot through this time; which is why Erin is willing to help his father get out of jail, using evidence. I can’t imagine having someone close to you, like a your own school principal, kill your mother and teacher.

Sincerely, Minal

  1. Hi Minal,
You’re right that would be difficult to have happen. We usually think that we should trust our teachers and those close to us. This would be a huge betrayal of trust. Interesting idea.
