Reading Letter 2- Seth

Cover Up

By: John Feinstein

Ch.  4-7

I am still reading Cover Up by John Feinstein.  I really like this book because it is a mystery and it is about sports.  I left off where Stevie had just arrived in Indianapolis and he had a suprise visitor in his hotel room.  The suprise visistor was Susan Carol.  Stevie had just gone to bed.

The next morning when Stevie woke up he went downstairs to eat breakfast with Bobby Kelleher and his wife Tamara Mearns.  Stevie loves food.  After breakfast Stevie walked to the Hoosier Dome with Kelleher and Mearns.  Stevie got in the long line to get media credentials.  Stevie was waiting, and waiting when he heard Sean McManus behind him.  McManus told Stevie to follow him into the CBS temprorary headquarters, which was a bunch of cubicles arranged rows with a door.  McManus gave Stevie a CBS media credential.  The credential would get you almost everywhere in the stadium, and Stevie wouldn’t have to wait in line when he was entering the dome.

When Stevie got down to the field he saw Susan Carol and her “posse”, which consisted of Jamie Whisitt (Stevie’s replacement), a camera guy, make-up lady and Tal Vincent (corporate executive for USTV).  Stevie briefly talked to Susan Carol and he was introduced to Jamie Whisitt.  Shortly after this Tla Vincent interupted Stevie in the middle of a scentence and told the crew they had to go.  Stevie said goodbye and he walked up the field to find Kelleher.  When he found Kelleher, Bobby told him his first assignment.  Stevie was to interview Darin Kerns, the ball boy for the Ravens.  He was also the previous number 1 target for Eddie Brennan, quarterback for the California Dreams.  Kerns was Brennan’s high school wide reciever.  Together they combined for almost 20 touchdowns in their senior year.

Stevie interviewed Kerns and then he met Kelleher and Mearns at the field goal post by the locker room tunnel.  He told Kelleher and Mearns about his interview.
