I picked up on page forty five on city of ember when doon an lina were discovering some very interesting things about ember, on there new jobs. lina went to visit her friend from the greenhouse one night as she was there a crazed man came running in and said there was nothing in the darkness.(the darkness was the part of ember that was not lighten by light.) lina an doon confrenced after she told him abt these odd things he warned her about the things he had seen to so they went to tunnel nintey eight wich doon was suspicous about. they found a stash of food for the mayor, everyone else was out of food though. lina doon attempted to confront them and failed. after that the mayor and all the guards were after them. so lina and doon went to get her little sister poppy back to the tunnels were they found a secret room with boats and candels that they took down the river that was near the genorator. they were on a long intense jorney finnaled the river ended and there was a starway. they went up and they were in grass wich was odd to them because there is no grass in ember. lina found a hole and looked though it and she saw ember under them she felt bad so she threw instructions down. then the book suddenly ends.

I thought this was one of the best books ive read. it was a good story with meaning. it alsodid not bore you wich i liked because that happens alot when i read a book. I like how the book ended with a clff hanger that makes me want to read the sequel.
