The tapestry book one: The Hound of Rowan

In this book there is a kid named Max who has a special talent.  So far, he has extinguished a flame with some kind of magic.  People in the book talk about Max like he has many special abilities.  There is a mysterious man who keeps following Max around wherever he is.   Later Max receives a strange letter saying that he will be paid a visit at a later time.  An evil lady attacks him and Max runs around his house and finds one of the good guys walking into his house, and the evil lady goes away.

 

This book is very interesting but isn’t one of my favorite books so far.  I feel as if the book jumps around too much.  For instance, in one part of the book they were walking around in an airport, and then suddenly, they were driving down a highway in a car.  This book does not use a lot of detail. The book also starts off with a slow beginning, that made me lose interest.  The book has some action, but I think it will have a lot more action later on,  when Max reaches an academy where other kids share his magic gifts.  This book kind of reminds me of The Harry Potter series ,because they have some sort of magical ability.  Over all, I can’t wait to read the rest of the book and finds out what happens next.
