Hello Ms. Gibson,

How to Disappear

Sharon Huss Roat

Page 1 to page 18= 18

Vicky Decker is a highschool girl who is a timid and introverted person. She wears clothes to match the walls at her school, so she isn’t noticeable. Vicky’s best friend, Jenna, moves away to a different state because of her dad’s job. Vicky is now friendless and terrified to go to school without her.

I like how the author gave you a perspective on Vicky’s life of describing how Jenna moving impacted Vicky’s every move. The author explained how the schools don’t get out until 5 P.M. I wonder if this is more common than getting out at 3 P.M.  I don’t understand how Jenna is shy, but her family is very outgoing. This book is similar to the other books because they usually involve a highschool student. I also liked how the author made a list of all the things Vicky doesn’t want to do because it gives the reader a better understanding of her.  When Vicky catches Adrian’s drumstick, it’s important because it describes how socially awkward she truly is. The title of the book makes you want to read it because there are many outcomes that it could lead up to.

Have a Good Day!

  1. Hi Sophia,
That would be really hard if your whole family was outgoing and you were shy!! Wow! It would get really tiring, I think. Does this character manage her family despite it?
