I finished the book, Go Ask Alice, it is written anonymously. The book was kind of confusing. It was all diary entries, that Alice had written. Some of the entries are written right after she had taken drugs so they were a little weird. She started off clean, not even thinking about doing drugs. Then she started hanging out with the wrong crowd. After using drugs a lot, mostly acid, speed and marijuana. She decided she wanted to quit, and she did. Then she met Richie, who was her boyfriend, and also a drug dealer. She started selling to to young kids, some as young as nine years old. When she realized what she did was wrong, she broke up with Richie. She then moved to San Francisco with her best friend, Chris (who is a girl.) They had to run away from home because it wasn’t safe to stay there with Richie knowing where they live. They came back six months later. They were both clean and ready to be home. She stayed clean for awhile until kids started to push her to do drugs again. She caved and did drugs, then got clean. She was clean up until the end of the book. At the end of her diary entries her life was going great. Then the epilogue says three weeks after her last diary entry she died of a drug overdose, but no one knew if it was accidental or intentional.

This book was actually pretty sad. Because it showed in depth how she felt every step of the way when she did drugs. When she was living in San Francisco, she got into prostitution and other really bad things. It makes it 10 times worse because it’s a true story. How she was doing great and then three weeks later she died of a drug overdose. But regardless it is a good book and I would recommend it to everyone who wants to read it.
