Reading Letter #2- Anna T- quarter 4

The Last Song
Nicholas Sparks
Anna Turner

I am continuing to read the book, The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks. Where I left off, Will and Ronnie we’re starting to have disagreements. Will’s sister is getting married and of course Will invited Ronnie to go. At the wedding, things were going good until Marcus showed up. He said some things about a fire that went on and blamed it on Will’s friend. The conversation became heated and they got into a physical fight. They ended up knocking over the whole reception tent and in the end, Will’s mom blamed the whole thing on Ronnie. Will and Ronnie didn’t talk until the next day when Will’s sister showed up at Ronnie’s house and explained to her that she must not let this come in between her and Will. Will was over at Ronnie’s house later, when Ronnie’s dad fell down and started coughing up blood. They rushed him to the hospital where Ronnie learned her dad has cancer. He had been keeping it a secret the whole summer because he didn’t want it to affect the way Ronnie acted toward him. The end of the summer was approaching and when it did come, Ronnie’s mom came to get her and her brother but Ronnie wouldn’t leave. She needed to stay with her dad and make up for lost time. Her mom agreed and two months later, her dad died. When the summer ended, Will had gone to Vanderbilt. Ronnie was very surprised when Will and his parents attended the funeral. After the funeral, Ronnie went back to New York and auditioned for Julliard. She was a piano player, just like her dad but when he left, she refused to play. She made it in to Julliard and one day while she was practicing, Will showed up. He told her he was transferring to Columbia, which is in New York and it was a “happily ever after” ending. This is by far my favorite book I have ever read. I loved every part of it, and all the details were realistic. I can’t wait to read more of Nicholas Spark’s books.
