20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

Jules Verne

pgs 124-154

Captain Nemo and Mousier and Cousiel have gone on the large part of the hunting trip. They are now going back to the Nautilus, then Captain Nemo sees something. He shoots a sea lion then a turtle. His companion shoots down an albatross as it soared above the water. They all then go back, they enjoy their spoils from the hunt, and tell the Canadian Ned Land about it. Then for three weeks the Nautilus goes almost 10,000 miles, then gets a crack in its hull.

This part of the book is a little dull. Its very interesting in some parts but during the voyage it was really boring. It was really cool during the hunting part. But i don’t know whats going to happen now that the Nautilus has a hole in it. It would be pretty scary, because they stop near a group of islands where savage attacks are not that uncommon. That would really stink, and boat wrecks are not that uncommon either. I always get freaked out thinking about being stranded in the open water. But it wouldn’t be that bad having to be stuck on an island because at least you might have water and food. Anyway its looking pretty good so far. I was hoping this book would pick up a lot, but i realized it was a slow book all the way through. Still its a challenge so I like it so far.
