5. I think if there was more then one African American walking by the white people it would of have been different. Since there was only one Melba and her mom it wasn’t as noticeable as if a group of African American walked by.

I think that since it was just Melba and her mother they did have an easier time blending into the crowd. But what about Elizabeth? She was by herself and was completely singled out and harassed. Do you think that the white peoples’ reactions to Elizabeth would have been different if she was in a group? Just an idea to consider.

you are right it would have been dificult to blend in with allot o blacks going threw the white croud.
