This excerpt does and doesn’t add to my understanding of what we watching in Eyes in the Prize.  I knew that white people already refused integration of African Americans.  In Eyes on the prize, they started riots and called them all Negros.  The excerpt did teach me that white people hated African Americans integrating into schools that they would chase them down with ropes and try to hang them and threw bricks at their cars.
