Dear Mrs. Gibson,

Deep Water

Watt Key

Book pages 1-264

Summary: So, after her dad becomes sick, twelve-year-old Julie Sims must dominate and lead two of his customers on a plunge mile off the shore of Alabama while her dad remains behind in the pontoon. At the point when the customers, a crazy kid Julie’s age and his similarly imprudent dad, dismiss Julie’s directions during the jump, she understands she’s out of luck. When she surfaces, things just deteriorate: One of the customers is in genuine condition, and their plunge vessel has evaporated – alongside Julie’s dad, the main individual who knows their whereabouts. It won’t be long until they get hypothermia, except if they become shark food first. In spite of the fact that Julie dislike her customers, it’s dependent upon her to save them all

Response: This book is really good I have read it multiple times. I like how Julie takes charge when her dad is not there and stays calm in the situation even though she is only twelve. They are out at sea by themselves and she takes charge and calms everyone down. Even though she does not like her customers she tries to save them and get to land. Both of the customers were freaking out because there are sharks and not boats around to save them. In the end they get saved but the customers dad died in the ocean from coming up to fast. She and the boy stayed very close after that.

Sincerely, Anna McQueary

  1. Hey Anna,
Isn’t it just like an adult to ignore the skills of a kid!? She has skills that certainly can get them to safety, but like many who undervalue because of age, she gets ignored. It does sound like a great story.
